It's Cardtastic!

I recently held a card workshop at my home called "It's Cardtastic".  This is the first card workshop I have had at my home and we had soooo much fun!  Though the class took much longer than I had planned, everyone was a good sport about it and we had a lot of laughs.

We made 8 cards - 2 each of 4 different designs.  A couple of the girls had chosen the Olivia paper pack from CTMH which has beautiful colors:  Barn Red, Smoothie, Sunset, and Pear

Here are the cards we made:

I also took individual pictures to give you a "closeup" of each card:

For this first card, we used the Something Splendid stamp set. We also used a stamping technique called "variegated stamping" where you can use different stamp pads to stamp an image. I have described this on my March 3, 2011 blog post. It's such a fun technique!

For card #2, we used the Coluzzle circle to make the middle background, the Sizzix Texture Boutique to give the background paper a little "pop".  The stamp set we used is called Rosy Regards. The stamping technique we used on the rose and leaves is called second generation where you ink up your stamped image and first "stamp off" on a separate piece of paper and then "stamp on" to your card.

For card #3, we used two stamp sets:  A Tweet and Intrinsic Backgrounds.  On the first card, you will see I stamped a background on the card base.  The second card does not have a stamped background.

For card #4, we used a stamp set called "Blessed."  This was the April Stamp of the Month.  We again used the Sizzix Texture Boutique to enhance the background.  To make the curved "squares", we just cut out squares and then used a corner rounder to round out two of the edges on each square.

Finally, I decided to teach the class how to make a tri-fold shutter card.  Though I have seen a number of tutorials on how to make this card, ultimately, I created my own set of instructions that were much easier to follow.  We used the Find Your Style stamp set which was the January Stamp of the Month.  Here's the card we made:

I hope you enjoyed looking at the cards we made.  I'm definitely looking forward to my next card workshop.  Hope you're having a "crafty" week!
