Snowflake Banner

The other day I saw a picture of a crocheted ice-crystal garland from Martha Stewart. 


I loved the look of it but since I don't crochet, it got me thinking.  Could I make this with paper?  So I got out my trusty Art Philosophy cartridge and started playing around.  This is what I came up with:


I used some white cardstock and some patterned paper from our  Wonderland paper.  I edged the outside of each white snowflake with Twilight.  I then added some prisma glitter to give it some sparkle and a little extra dimension.  I don't know that you can really see the glitter.  I used some white brads to connect the snowflakes.  Here are some close-up pictures of the garland:



I think I'm going to add some more snowflakes to the ends of the garland so that they hang down either side.

If you're interested in making this, I cut the snowflakes at 4" and 5 1/2".  I used the snowflake images on page 22:  A2 < Snwflke1 > and shift/layer/< Snwflke1 >.
