Valentine's Décor and Gifts Blog Hop - February 9 - 12, 2012

Hi and welcome to the Valentine's Décor and Gifts Blog Hop!  This hop will run from February 9 - 12.

You should have come her from Anita's blog Anita & Bugs. If you happened here by chance you're in luck! There will be 19 stops full of great ideas, so grab a beverage and head over to the hostess' blog - Staci.

Staci's blog is at http://preciousmem.blogspot.com/. The sponsor for this hop is Designs on Cloud 9 at http://designsoncloud9.com/ and she has offered us a $20 gift voucher for the GRAND prize. Head over to her Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Designs-on-Cloud-9/189551027737837 and show her some love. One lucky person who comments on this hop will be the winner of this generous prize. (One person from each stop will be chosen at random and we will then hold a random draw with those 20 people and one lucky person will win the grand prize).

For this hop I decided to make a cute little valentine's box for a set of 3 x 3 mini cards.  Now, originally I decided to make this to give to my husband and by that I mean I was going to give him a card a day during Valentine's week and then he would have a place to store the cards on his desk and it wouldn't take up a lot of room.  THEN I started to think about and thought, hmmm, maybe I should give this to him BEFORE Valentine's Day so he could give ME the cards every day :)  I'll see how I feel this weekend.

Here's a picture of the cute little box I made:

I made the box using Close to My Heart's exclusive Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  I cut the image from p. 21, A1, shift, font layer < Flower1 > at 8".  The paper I used is called Roxie and is just GORGEOUS!

The heart was cut from p. 26, A6, shift < Heart1 > at 2".   I used a stamp set called Mad About You (Stamp of the Month - December 2011) to stamp the pattern on the heart.  I then used our Red Glitz Glitter Gel to highlight part of the pattern.

The band across the box was cut at 1" x 9" and stamped with the same pattern as on the heart.

The next picture shows the box opened up and the 6 3 x 3 mini cards inside:

I made 6 cards - 2 sets of 3 to put in the box also using the Roxie paper pack.

For the last set of cards, to make the heart "pop" up, I used a new product we have called "Adhesive Springs".  I thought it added a little "somethin' somethin'" to the cards.

Here's a close-up of the card with the spring:
