Cruisin' Card

Whenever I have a creativity "block", I like to look at craft magazines to try and jumpstart a creative spark.  I was having a hard time getting started today so I grabbed a copy of PaperCrafts Magazine - it was the November/December 2011 issue.  As I thumbed through the pages, I came across a card entitled "Colorblock Hanukkah Card" and I thought "aha"  -- colorblocking!

So I grabbed a pack of paper called "Cruisin" from Close to My Heart and got started.  As you may or may not know, colorblocking is when you use two or more solid blocks of color.  Here's what I ended up with:

Now I know I didn't end up with a card that has true colorblocking - I just couldn't help myself - I had to add some patterned paper!  I do like what I ended up with though.

The sentiment comes from the March Stamp of the Month - Potential.

This stamp set can be purchased for only $17.95 OR you can get it for ONLY $5 with a purchase of $50.00.  What a great stamp set!

Of course, I had to use our Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge on this card.  I stamped the sentiment on an image I cut from p. 56, D6   < Shape4 > as well as the frame for the image using the "layer" key.  They were cut at 1" x 4 1/2" by using the Fit to Length key.

Thanks for stopping by!
