Good Morning Crafters! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I know I did :)
Today's post is all about the weekly Heart2Heart challenge. This week is all about stitching. This was definitely a challenge for me since I don't sew at all -- have no affinity for it whatsoever. BUT the beauty of this challenge is that it doesn't have to be hand stitching, you can stitch by machine or even do faux stitching. Here's my card:
For this week's challenge I used Close to My Heart's Stella paper. I just LOVE this paper -- the colors are so vibrant. Since I don't sew, I went the "faux stitching" route. This is an A-2 size card. I was having a hard time coming up with a design to use so I turned to one of our "how-to" books for a pattern to inspire me - our Wishes Card Confidence Program. I found one on p. 53 called "Delightful Dots".
The base of my card is just white cardstock. I then cut a piece of Lagoon cardstock at 3" x 3". I used my Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut out the 3 circles for the card: 1", 1 1/2", and 2 1/2". It's the image on p. 21, A1, < Circle1 >. The circles are cut out of Sunset, Olive, and Cocoa cardstock.
For the thin border down the side of the card, I used the zip strip from the top of a piece of the Stella paper. For my faux stitching, I used a black pen from our My Legacy Writers Black Pen Set - the .08 one. I "stitched" the frame of the card and then each of the circles and the square.
I cut the dragonfly image using the AP cart. It's on p. 24, A4, shift, < Dragnfly >, cut at 2 1/2".
For the sentiment on the bottom right of the card, I used "A Tree" (A1124). It's such a cute stamp set and only $6.95!
Stop on by and play with us over at Heart2Heart -- would love to see what you create for this week's challenge.
