Paper Playtime - Friendship Card

I'm happy and excited to announce that I am now a Design Team member for Paper Playtime!  There are two Design Times - one is for "Say It With Sentiments" and the other is "Delicious Die Cuts".  I am now a member of the "Delicious Die Cuts" team.  I can't wait to get started.

The FIRST Monday of the month is DELICIOUS DIE CUT Challenges with various themes.

The THIRD Monday of the month is SAY IT WITH SENTIMENTS Challenges with various themes. Any crafting medium is welcome as long as there is a sentiment on your project.

For months with a 5th Monday, we will have Special 1 Week Only Challenges and sometimes make it a HOP.
Even though it's not my team's week to post, I wanted to join in on the Say It With Sentiments Challenge #75 - Friendship Card.

I was at a 2-day crop this weekend and wanted to play around with a new kind of card.  I went to Splitcoaststampers to see what would inspire me.  I ended up finding a tutorial called "Surprise Pop Up Card".  Here's the link.  Now I'm going to warn you right up front that the tutorial isn't the best and it took me awhile to figure it out but once I did -- I loved the way it turned out.

First let me show you pictures of my card:

I made my card using our Pemberley paper - I just love the coordinating colors in this pack:  Desert Sand, Outdoor Denim, Bamboo, Indian Corn Blue.  The sunflowers came from our May Stamp of the Month called Friendship Bouquet.  The sentiment comes from a set called "4 My Friend".  I colored the sunflowers using our Honey, Buttercup, and Chocolate markers.  To take it "up a notch", I used Stickles (Yellow and Cinnamon) to make the flowers "pop".  Finally, I used our exclusive Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to make the sentiment box:  page 25, A5, < Rctngle4 > cut at 1 1/4".

Supplies used:

Pemberley Paper
May Stamp of the Month:  Friendship Bouquet
4 My Friend stamp set
Art Philosophy Cricut Bundle
Honey Marker
Buttercup Marker
Chocolate Marker
Cinnamon Stickles
Yellow Stickles
