Good morning everyone! I hope this Friday morning finds you well.
All Active 52 Challenges CLICK HERE
Welcome to our Friday challenges! A new question or theme is posted every Friday. That's 52 projects in 2012 if you do them all! We thought it would be a neat idea to make all 52 projects part of a mini album... a new page every week based on the question or theme.
But you interpret this challenge any way you like. All forms of crafting are welcome!
Enter before the end of the month to be in the drawing for that month's prize, but all challenges are open until the end of the year giving everyone plenty of time to Jump In or Get Started. ENJOY!!
We have TWO sponsors and TWO prizes for June!! Be sure to enter each week for more chances to win our June's prize. See more info about our sponsors and prize for June after my project for this week's Question / Theme.
Without further ado, I present to you (see how I made that rhyme??) my two-page layout:

Do you like? I had a lot of fun creating this layout. I was having trouble coming up with a design or "blueprint" for my layout so I turned to a trusty "friend" - Magic - one of our "how-to" programs. It's an interactive scrapbook program that has a TON of ideas for scrapbook layouts. I have to say I even use this same book to make cards since scrapbook layouts are really large "cards"! Now even though this book is retiring, it is still available and is a steal at only $21.95. It even includes a DVD with techniques and templates to help you out! I used a layout called "Crystal Ball" on pages 24 and 25. Instead of a large flower, I used a star shape and I added extra matting.
I used Close to My Heart's Footloose paper pack -- it really felt "summery" to me. (I know that's not a word - just like to use it.) I also used the coordinating Footloose Complements Dimensional Elements to add some "pop" to the page. That would be the flowers, stars, and blue letter squares that you see on the pages. (NOTE: This fantastic paper will be retiring at the end of July, so don't wait to get it -- it's just fabulous to use for all of those summer projects you are working on! You can purchase it by clicking here.)
I used our exclusive Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut out the circle in the middle of the sun. The circle can be found on page 21, A1, < Circle1 > cut at 5". The sun was from my second favorite Cricut cartridge: Create-a-Critter. You can find the image on page 52, C9, < Sun > which was cut at 8".
