It's All About Summertime Blog Hop

Welcome to the Memories in Tyme blog hops - where you will find some seriously talented people who love to share their ideas with you! Our hop today is anything relating to summertime - doesn’t matter if it is a layout, card, mini album, or decorating item, if it’s about summertime…it’ll be here!!! With summertime right around the corner - it’s all about the heat, sunshine, spending time outdoors, green grass, family, BBQ’s, parades…you get the idea!!!

Now, if you just happened upon my blog, then please go back to the beginning which is at Lynda’s blog (http://memoriesintyme.com/). Besides, the beginning is always the best anyway!!!

Now for my project!  For me, summer has always been about the beach.  I have always loved going to the beach and our beautiful Pacific Ocean here on the California coast.

I had posted a two page summer layout last week where I used a book called "Magic", which is an interactive scrapbook program from Close to My Heart.  The layout was called "Crystal Ball."  Click here to go to my earlier post.

For this hop, I decided to make cards using the same layout pattern instead of another set of layouts.  So, instead of a two-page 12 x 12 layout, I have created two summertime cards for you!

Here are pictures of my cards:

Card 1 - design is from left side of layout

Close-up of spinner

Close-up of other side of spinner

Card 2 - design is from right side of layout

For both of my cards I used our Footloose paper.  I also used a starfish from the Footloose Complements Dimensional Elements on the top right of the card.  I decided to add a "spinner" to the sun on the top left of the card by cutting two circles cut at 2 1/4" and then cut the second circle to make the spinner (the circle can be found on the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge - page 21, A1, < Circle2 > cut at 2 1/4").  I added a Chocolate brad for it to spin.  The sun was cut using the Create-A-Critter cartridge.  The image is on page 52, C10, cut at 3". The sentiment "4 My Friend" came from the stamp set of the same name "4 My Friend".  The summer words in the spinner came from a retired stamp set called "Sunshine Thoughts". Papers were edged with either Sweet Leaf or Chocolate inks pads.

For the second card, I turned it on its side and added a sandcastle from the Create-A-Critter Cricut cartridge.  You can find this image on page 40, B6, shift, < SndCastl > - cut at 2 1/4".  The seashells are on  the same page and were cut at 3/4".  The sentiment "summertime" came from the Footloose zip strip.  The "miss you like crazy" sentiment also came from the "4 My Friend" stamp set used earlier.

Supplies Used:
Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge (Z1686)
Create-A-Critter Cricut cartridge
Footloose Paper (X7151B)
Footloose Complements Dimensional Elements (X7151C)
Sweet Leaf Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2153)
Chocolate Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2111)
Sponge Dauber (Z276)
4 My Friend stamp set (D1510)
Sunshine Thoughts stamp set (B1216)
