Celebrate 4th of July!!!

Photobucket

Good Morning Everyone!

It's the first Monday of the month, so that means it's time for our DELICIOUS DIE CUT Challenge #78 over at Paper Playtime! (Be sure and come back the 3rd Monday of the month for our Say It With Sentiments Challenge.)

Here's your challenge:  Make anything using the colors Red, White, and Blue PLUS a Die Cut!  Now your project does NOT have to be patriotic but it can be!  Can't wait to see what you will come up with :)

I have started scrapbooking again and decided to do a 4th of July layout.  Here are some pictures of my 12 x 12 layout:

This 12 x 12 layout was made using Close to My Heart's "Superhero" paper pack.  I chose this paper pack because of the colors which reminded me of Fourth of July.  I used Sky, Moonstruck, and Colonial White cardstock in addition to the designer papers that came with the pack.  I even used the "zip strip" from the top of one of the papers as a border on my layout.

The stars were actually cut out using our exclusive Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge

Star #1:  page 45, C5, shift, < Star3 > cut at 2"
Star #2:  page 49, C9, shift, < Star4 > cut at 1"

I used a small star stamp from a stamp set that comes with the Art Philosophy bundle to stamp on the star shape at the top of the layout as well as on the Moonstruck cardstock border in the middle of the layout.
The banner where I stamped "CELEBRATE" can be found on page 68, E8, < Banner1 > and was cut at 1" x 5 1/4" (using the Fit to Length key).  The stars are actually chipboard shapes that come with our Dimensional Elements Stars embellishment which coordinates with our Art Philosophy cartridge.  NO MORE tracing and then cutting out the shapes!!! Just set your Cricut to the correct size, cut, and adhere your paper to the the chipboard -- easy peasy (as my Aunt would say).

The sentiment "CELEBRATE" comes from a retired CTMH stamp set called "A Little Everything."

The fireworks and the "4th of July" sentiment were cut using the Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge.  You can find these shapes as follows:

Fireworks:  page 50, C9, < Firewrks > cut at 1 1/2", 3 1/2"
4th of July sentiment:  page 67, E7, < 4ofJuly > cut at 3 3/4"

I also used Waterfall Stickles on both of the fireworks images to make them "pop" - no pun intended :)

Supplies Used:
Stand and Salute Cricut Cartridge
Superhero Paper Packet (X7152B)
A Little Everything
Sky Cardstock (X5917)

You can purchase any of these supplies OR any other CTMH products by either emailing me here or ordering directly from my website here.
