Artiste Explosion Album

If you are looking for my Pause Dream Enjoy DT project, please click here.

The other day I was going through my craft room trying to find something quick to create.  I found an old kit from My Mind's Eye that showed how to create an Explosion Album -- you know the kind that looks like it's in a box and when you take off the lid, it falls open?  Well I started to follow the instructions and found that they made it much more complicated than I thought was necessary.  Cut a 3" square from each corner of your 12 x 12 paper, etc. etc.

I thought to myself, there MUST be an easier way.  Well, there is!  I pulled out my Artiste Cricut cartridge and looked at the booklet trying to find a 3-D image that would work and I found one!  Look at page 48 of the booklet below:

It's the 3-D object in the lower right hand corner of this page.

Let me show you my Explosion Album Box:

I used our new Pear & Partridge paper pack to make this cute little album.  I also used the Pear and Partridge Complements Glittery Rubons and Dimensional Elements - Holiday.

Here are a few more pictures:

You can create this box by cutting the image on page 48, 3D Obj, < i > cut at 2 1/2", 2 3/4", and 3".  You can find the lid on the same page - 48, shift 3D Obj, < I > cut at 3".

The ribbon on top can be found on page 55, C5, Accent 1 < g > and Shift, Accent 1 < G > cut at 6" and 11 1/2".

I haven't decided which photos I will be putting in my album -- pictures from last year or wait until we take pictures this year.  That's why the album isn't as embellished as I would like.  I may also be teaching this as a class so would like people to have the option to put whatever photos they want and then add on embellishments.

I used a couple of images from different stamp sets:  Merry and Bright (C1510), Perfect Fit - Holidays (B1412), and Pear and Partridge WOTG stamp set (G1052).  I also used Olive, Cranberry, and Cashmere ink pads to edge the mats in the album and to stamp some of the images.
