It's All About the Music

Welcome to our Friday challenges at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges where we have a new question or theme posted every Friday!  That's 52 projects in 2012 if you do them all!  We thought it would be a neat idea to make all 52 projects part of a mini album... a new page every week based on the question or theme.

But you interpret this challenge any way you like. All forms of crafting are welcome!

We are on Week #36 and our theme is to include some type of MUSIC on your project.  Do you play an instrument or wish you did?  Has music played a role in your life in any way??

Our sponsor for this week's challenge is Digi Stamp Characters by Heather Ellis.

Heather is offering 3 digital images to one lucky winner!!

Here is my Design Team submission for this challenge:

Music has always been a big part of my life.  I started playing the piano when I was 5 years old and took lessons until I was 18 years old.  I just find it incredibly soothing to play music or to listen to music.  Sometimes I drive my husband crazy because I just have to have the radio on or my iPod playing.

I made a 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" card using a paper pack from Close to My Heart called "La Belle Vie" - I really love the colors in this paper pack.  I found an old stamp set that I had called "My Heart" - it's a retired stamp set.  I thought it was just perfect for this theme.  The musical notes and the sentiment came from this set.  I stamped them using Vineyard Berry ink -- this color has been retired.

I also want to point out that I was inspired by a card in our Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book.  If you look at page 43, you will see the card. I just love our Idea Books -- there is always something inspiring!

I cut the card shape using our Artiste Cricut cartridge. The card shape is on page 49, B9, Card < o > cut at 4 1/2".  The mat was cut at 4 1/4" from page 48, B8, Shift, Card, < I > cut at 4 1/4".  The hearts are also on the cartridge - page 49, B9, Shift, Accent 1, < O > cut at 1", 1 1/2", and 2".  I edged the circle using Blush ink.

I hope you enjoyed my project.  I can't wait to see what you create.
