Nuts 4 Fall

Welcome to the Nuts 4 Fall Blog Hop.  Today we are celebrating all things fall. We have an amazing lineup for this hop.

For my project today, I made a card ... well I made 2 cards.  I made the first one and wasn't exactly happy with it so I altered it and made a second one.  Here's the first one:

I used what I consider "fall" colors like Olive, Autumn Terracotta, and Goldrush to make this card.  I used our exclusive Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut the card shape.  You can find the shape on page 56, D6, Shift, Card, < Leaf4 > cut at 4" x 5 1/4" using the Fit to Length key.  For the leaves I used a stamp set called "Fall Harvest".  I stamped them in Chocolate ink and then colored them in with Olive and Autumn Terracotta markers.  I stamped the sentiment and edged the outside of the card using Goldrush ink.

I kind of liked this card but felt that it needed something more, sooooo ... I made this one next:

Can you see the difference between the two?  Yes I did move the leaves to the center and I inked the sentiment using New England Ivy ink.  The biggest difference is that I used the same stamped leaf image for the background.  I random stamped the leaf with second generation stamping.  That just means that I inked up the leaf image and stamped it first on a scrap piece of paper and then a second time on the card itself for a lighter image.

What do you think?  Do you like the first one or the second more?
