Through our blog hop, we hope to inspire you to use your own artistic instincts to interpret and create your own artwork. Each of our crafty consultants has chosen a different page of this book to create two projects for you – that’s right two projects with the SAME pattern! One project will follow the blueprint pattern as laid out. The second project will use the pattern “with a twist” to show you how versatile the patterns are.
We are having a giveaway – that’s right blog candy for you hoppers! I just love Volume I of Make It From Your Heart and I know you will to, soooooo, I am giving away a copy of Make It From Your Heart – Volume 1. All you have to do to be eligible to win is to leave a comment on each blog. If you would like an extra chance to win, become a follower of my blog (comment below if you do, or if already are a follower). I chose page 44, pattern 23 from the Make It From Your Heart book. The pattern was for a card which was cut from Desert Sand cardstock. As you can see from my picture above, the pattern was for an A2 size card - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I used our Pear and Partridge paper pack - the colors are just perfect for Christmas don't you think? I cut out 6 1 1/2" squares. The sentiment on the outside, the little partridge, and the wreath come from the Merry & Bright stamp set. I used Cranberry and Olive ink to stamp them. I also used Cranberry ink for the edges. The sentiment on the inside comes from our Perfect Fit - Holidays stamp set. It fit perfectly inside the wreath.
The card you see above uses the pattern from the book exactly.
Now for the twist! Just because it's a card pattern doesn't mean you have to use it only that way. I decided to use that same pattern to make a Halloween scrapbook layout:
The above layout uses the same pattern or blueprint as I did for the card I made. I used our Moonlight paper pack as well as our Moonlight Complements Dimensional Elements for the layout. The photo squares are cut at 3" and 3 1/2". Each of the Colonial White squares was edged with a coordinating ink color. The middle strip on the top of the ribbon underneath the letters came from our Satin Polka Dot Ribbon with a zip strip from the top of one of the Moonlight papers. The "Halloween '12" was made using our Irresistibles Houndstooth Alphabet which I inked with coordinating ink.
