Family is a special word that means more then those that are actually related to us. It is a word that means those that are close to us. Those that are there for us when we cry or laugh and just want to talk. Families are special and this is a special time to be thankful for our family be it big or small, near or far. Please join our crafters as they celebrate families through their creativeness and love.

Our hostess is Jearise from Lorby's World and she will be having a special give away on her blog so make sure you start with her blog to see the prize and how to enter the drawing.

Here is my idea of FAMILY:

I decided to make a mini album for family photos.  Unfortunately I couldn't print out my photos and put them in because my laptop crashed last week and we were just able to recover most of the data over the weekend.  There was no time to get prints of the pictures that I will be putting in so you will have to use your imagination:)

To make this cute mini album, I used a Tru-Fit Folio from Close to My Heart.  I scored the folder (while it was folded in half) at 4" and 8".  I then opened up the folder and folded it in half the other way so that there would be 6 "slots".  I cut the Florentine paper at 3 7/8" x 5 7/8".  I then adhered the pockets by putting adhesive on the sides of each pocket.  I used my Coluzzle to cut a half circle to create the pocket for each tag.  If you don't have a Coluzzle, you can easily cut the half circle out by putting a round object on top, tracing it, and then cutting it out.

For the tags, I used our exclusive Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and cut the tags out at 5".  The image can be found on page 60, D10, < Tag4 >.  I also used our stamp set called "Family Love".  I stamped the sentiments on images I also cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge:  page 37, B7, < Shape7 > and page 47, C7, < Shape8 > cut at 2 3/4" and 3".  The sentiments were stamped with Olive ink.

I have wanted to make this album for a long time -- I had made some several years ago when I taught a workshop on them.  I thought it would be perfect for family photos.  It's also small enough to store because you could leave it out closed up or opened up.

I have also made this type of mini album and put in gift cards on the tags instead of photos.  It makes a great gift.  I gave one to my husband one year for our anniversary and I put in gift cards for some of his favorite places.
