Winter Wonderland

If you are looking for my creations for our December Calendar Girls Blog Hop, please click here.

Brought to you by the Krazy Krafting Krew, this is our last hop of the year as we say goodbye to the old and bring in the new.  Next year will get even better with more specific projects and themes to share with you!

What a beautiful time of year it is for most of us, and a great time to craft!

Today we will be hopping through many different winter projects.  If you have arrived from Paula's blog at Precious Pages by Paula, you are in the right place!  If you have just stumbled upon the hop, please start with our hostess, Lissa Marie, of So Many Crafts, So Little Time.

Don’t forget to check out the blog candy throughout the hop and read the rules for each one as every blog has different requirements.  Your host LissaMarie is giving out a mini calendar to those who are followers of her blog (confirmation is required or she won’t see that you have signed up if you are new). She will make it just for you to help your schedule your appointments or if you are a blogger you can schedule all your hops all right next to your monitor!  All you have to do is tell her your favorite colors!

Another great reason to comment so you can also win with our sponsor, Scrapbook Stamp Society!

They would love to reward one special blog visitor with a prize from their store. To be qualified for their drawing, please comment on all participating blogs and let them know you have. You will receive extra entries for following the on Facebook - just click here and for commenting on the Scrapbook Stamp Society blog by clicking here.
For my Winter craft, I made an Advent Calendar!  I remember when I was a little girl, we always had an Advent Calendar of some kind to look at every day before Christmas.  I decided to start that tradition this year and made my Advent Calendar with little boxes so we could add our own treats or notes.
Here's a picture:

I have to tell you I had SO much fun making this!  It was actually part of a kit from Close to My Heart called Advent Calendar Workshop on the Go Kit.  It comes with all the paper and embellishments you need to create it along with an Instructional BrochureOf course, if you know me at all, you know that I always have to change things up and add my own "touches" to a project.  I can never leave well enough alone :)  I added some paper from our Pear and Partridge paper kit to cut the Christmas trees and the stockings.  I cut out the numbers using our Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge cutting them at 1".  The Artiste Cricut cartridge was used to cut the little treat boxes in each of the cubbies.  The image is on page 80, E10, 3D Object, < Christms > cut at 2 1/2".

I hope you enjoyed my project - we start on the 1st!

  1. I LOVE THOSE! those little box advent calendars! they are sooo awesome! Thank you for joining us looking forward to a new year with fresh new project making! Glad to have you as a part of the team!

  2. OOOOH, Lucy, I LOVE this! And what a perfect day to showcase it but on the day the first of the boxes will be opened. Have you stuffed it full of sweet treats? I once made an advent calendar for my college-aged daughter and filled it with gift cards I purchased for her throughout the year -- 2 a month and it didn't feel like quite a pinch at Christmas time. I think I'll go back to that idea for next year, now that she is a new mom with a whole new line-up of gift cards she needs (like gas, groceries, diapers, etc.) Maybe even coupons too! :)

Merry Christmas to you and yours, and may your new year be blessed and full of craftiness!
