Happy New Year?

Happy New Year!

Okay - I know it's not really the New Year yet BUT we are celebrating early over at the Card a Day Blog!  We like to present you with holiday cards BEFORE the holiday to hopefully inspire you when you are ready to make cards for the upcoming holidays.

When I started to think of what to make for this theme, I realized that for many of my friends, 2012 was a tough year and they couldn't wait for 2013 to start!

For my card, I decided to use a paper pack from Close to My Heart called "Flirty".  I love the bright colors and thought it would work with the idea I had for my Happy New Year card.  I used the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut out my card base.  I loved the parentheses that were cut into the card front.  You can find this card shape on page 58, D8, Shift, Card, < Bracket2 >, 4 1/2".

For the sentiment on the front, I used "A Typeface" stamp set, inked with Hollyhock ink and cut out the squares using the AP cart:  page 23, A3, < Square1 > 1 1/2", 1 3/4", and 2".

For the inside sentiment, I used a stamp from our December Stamp of the Month called "Year Round Cheer".   I then added a little "bling, bling" from our Bitty Sparkles pack to the inside image.

Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge (Z1686)
Flirty paper pack (X7160B)
A Typeface (A1117)
Year Round Cheer (S1212)
Hollyhock Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2128)
New England Ivy Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2135)
Bitty Sparkles (Z1263)
Sponge Daubers (Z726)

I hope you have enjoyed my first New Year's card and maybe even inspired you to make cards for this holiday.

Have a wonderfully crafty day!
