Whoo's Your Valentine Blog Hop

Welcome to our National Papercrafting Month's "Whoo's Your Valentine" Blog Hop!  We will be featuring the stamp set and products from the "Whoo's Your Valentine" kit.

If you have came here from Mary's Blog at me Stamp 2, you are on the right path!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultants here.

This month we have approximately 30 Close to My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using the "Whoo's Your Valentine" kit and other great CTMH products on their blogs.  This is simple to do -- just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one!

There are just SO many ways you can use this kit.  I decided to make a set of mini cards:

To make this cute set of mini cards, I took White cardstock and cut 3" x 6" strips.  I ended up using 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock since it was the closest to me at my craft table.  I found that when using that size cardstock, I could get either 2 or 3 cards from each piece of cardstock.  To maximize my cardstock and not waste paper, I found that if I first cut the 8 1/2" side down to 6, I could then cut the 11" side 3 times at 3".  (I hope that makes sense!)

I then took the piece of Hollyhock cardstock and cut it down into 3" x 3" sections for my first layer on the cards.  For the 3rd and 4th cards, I used the Artiste Cricut cartridge to cut the first layer - the heart shaped mat.  It can be found on page 66, D6, Card, < n > cut at 2 3/4".

The hearts on my cards were also cut using the Artiste cartridge using a key on the same page as above:  page 66, D6, Shift, Accent 1, < N > cut at 1", 1 1/4", and 2 1/2".

Finally, I  used some "bling" called "Bitty Sparkles" on the eyes of the owl in the first card.

I'm not sure if you can tell or not, but the card with the glitter heart (second to the last picture), has an Adhesive Spring attached to the heart.  If you look closely at the heart, you can see that the heart looks a little "off".  That's because it's attached to an Adhesive Spring and right before taking the picture, I "flicked" the heart to get it to move!

Did you notice the glitter heart on the front and center of the first picture?  That's glitter paper included in the kit - an upcoming new CTMH product!  When you purchase this kit, you get the glitter paper in advance of it's unveiling in February!
