Fire and Ice

This hop is based on the famous poem "Fire and Ice" by Robert Frost. Even though the poem is of the humankind's demise, Jearise, our hostess, still loves it. She says every time she hears the title she thinks of blues and reds so she thought why not have a blog hop based on those colors?

Our wonderful crafters have created projects using either shades of red or shades of blue or they have jumped right in and combined the two colors. You'll have to hop along to see which way they went. Don't you just love playing the guessing game while hopping?

Jearise of Lorby's World, who is our hostess, will have blog candy so make sure you start hopping from her blog so you know how to qualify.

Inside of Card

As you can see from my pictures above, I chose "ICE"!  This is a 5" square card cut using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  This cartridge has 100 different card shapes!  This shape can be found on page 23, A3, Card, < Square1 >.  I then cut the next layers using the same key without the "Card" function - cut at 4 1/2" and 4 3/4".

I pulled my blue colors from the Later Sk8r paper pack - Lagoon and Outdoor Denim.  These are coordinating colors from this paper pack.  I'm not sure if you can tell, but the first layer on the front of the card is actually some patterned paper from this paper pack.

Now for the flowers on the front, you're getting a bit of a "sneak peak".  This stamp set is called "Floral Happiness" but won't be available until March 1st!  It's our March Stamp of the Month.  I just couldn't help it -- I love the flowers in this set!  I inked the images using the Lagoon and Outdoor Denim inks.  For the large flower on the front, I did use some 3D foam tape to pop it up for dimension.

The sentiment on the inside of the card comes from a stamp set included in the Avonlea Workshop on the Go Cardmaking Kit and was stamped with Lagoon ink as well.

Your card is so pretty. I love the layout of it. The rose is pretty in the colors used. The sentiment is wonderful. Thanks for sharing. Edwina Brown.
