Sketches
Welcome to Scraps To Treasure's February Hop!
Sketches are fun and useful for those in a hurry, gives you a guide to go by when you get stumped for idea but the sky is the limit with a sketch since it is your creative mind and showing how you have interpreted it.
This month we are using our scraps to create a card
or a layout
inspired by a sketch.
Our hostess is Lucy (that's me!) here at Love 2 Create.
Today I'm giving away some blog candy! To be entered in to win this fabulous prize, you must:
1. Follow ALL the blogs in this hop
2. Comment on ALL the blogs in the hop
3. Head on over to my FB fan page at https://www.facebook.com/LucyK.CTMH and give it a like. If you come back to Lucy's blog and leave a comment saying you did so get entered in for a second chance.
Here is what you can win:
This is a How-To Publication called "Make It From Your Heart" from Close to My Heart that features 16 two-page layout patterns, 2 single-page patterns, as well as 12 different card patterns.
Here is what the card sketch inspired me to make:
So as you know, we at Scraps to Treasures, use up our scraps to make our projects. These papers come from a Close to My Heart paper pack called Avonlea. I had created a set of 15 cards for a workshop using this paper and STILL had paper left over! Soooooo, I decided to make MORE cards! My card stash has gotten so low - it was time to replenish! PLUS I accepted a challenge from some crafty friends of mine to make 500 cards this year! You think that's a lot? They are each doing 750 cards!
Anyway, on with more on my cards. I used the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut the ovals. You can find the image on page 42, C2, < Oval3 > cut at 2" and 2 1/4". I also cut the scalloped border with the cartridge: page 64, E4, Shift, Font, < Arrow2 > cut at 3/4". The sentiment, the 2 little flowers, and the "flair" I stamped on the scalloped borders were stamped using the stamp set that comes with the Avonlea Workshop on the Go kit and were stamped with Slate ink.
SUPPLIES USED
Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge (Z1686)
Avonlea Workshop on the Go (G1041)
Slate Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2173)

Very nice Lucy, thank you for hosting too! Looks like it is going to be a great hop!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! TY for hosting this and sorry was a bit not on time. I guess I should have put 8pm California time. TY agian.
ReplyDeleteVERY nice cards, Lucy. I didn't recognize Avonlea even though I too had just finished the CTMH WOTG. Well done! And THANK YOU for reminding me to go back and check out my Art Philosophy cartridge for the basic images ... I struggled to make the scalloped border, for example, assembling it using my Silhouette program instead of realizing it was right under my nose with my Cricut and AP. AP is truly a versatile cartridge!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting our STT hop this month!
Fondly,
