Christmas in July

Welcome to our  “Christmas In July” Blog Hop! So glad you can join us!

If you are coming from Angela's blog at 3 Crazy Monkeys, then you are in the right spot. If you just happened to stumble upon my site or your reading this via e-mail, please start at MIRANDA'S BLOG so you don’t miss anyone’s amazing projects!

Have you started on your Christmas Cards and/or your Christmas Decor yet?  Well we will be showcasing some Christmas projects to help you get in the mood! In addition to seeing some awesome projects, there is some blog candy available too!  Miranda will be giving away a Michael's or JoAnn's gift card.  Winner's choice!  To be eligible to win the blog candy, you must leave a comment on each stop in the hop telling us what is your favorite summer time activity!  Be sure to leave a comment on each stop because the winner can be chosen from any of the participants blogs!

For my project today, I created my first Christmas card of the season!  This is an A2 size card measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  The base is just White cardstock.  I used a new paper pack from Close to My Heart called Frosted.  The star overlay was cut using our brand new Artbooking Cricut cartridge!  I just LOVE this cartridge.  This cartridge can be used by scrapbookers and cardmakers alike.  I cut the overlay at 5 1/2" from page 74, D7, Overlay, < m > using the Real Dial Size Key. It cut at 5 1/2" square so I just cut off the bottom layer so it would fit on my card.

The sentiment "Merry & Sweet Christmas" and the peppermints came from the new Candyland stamp set.  I stamped both with Ruby ink.  For the background of the sentiment I stamped the peppermint candy "second generation" so that it was a lighter image.  The sentiment was stamped on a shape from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge at 2 1/2".

I hope you enjoyed my Christmas card -- have you started creating any Christmas projects yet?
